From Qatar: COP18 UN Climate Change Conference 2012 in December 2012

COP18 (01/12/12) – Dr Cheikh Mbow, Senior Scientist at the World Agroforestry Centre talks about the need to achieve adaptation to climate change for the small holder farming system with the use of trees.

He says he aims to encourage people to use tress and agriculture in a sustainable way to help promote food security and ensure climate mitigation. Climate change is expected to be a big burden for agriculture so there is a need for agricultural systems to adapt to climate change.

He promotes an integrated approach which covers trees, crops and soils altogether.
