COP18: Freshwater access the greatest climate adaptation challenge
Fred Boltz , Conservation International
From Qatar: COP18 UN Climate Change Conference 2012
COP18 (06/12/12) – Fred Boltz, senior vice president, Conservation International, says it is still too early to judge whether the UN’s flagship REDD forest carbon scheme will be a success in the long term after initially being considered as a silver bullet solution to pull greenhouse gases out of the atmosphere.
He also discusses the link between freshwater access and climate change calling it the most pressing adaptation challenge posed by the climate crisis.
Conservation International has established a freshwater adaptation approach to provide ecosystems the best possible chance to adapt to shifting weather patterns.
